What is NSIPA VSTP?

NSIPA VSTP is a vocational and skill acquisition programme set up by the Federal Government in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda to help vulnerable citizens move from dependency to self-sustaining livelihoods.

The programme was officially flagged off in Abuja by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr Bernard Doro and training began almost immediately. A total of 229 centers has been accredited nationwide for this training. It includes government technical colleges and other vocational institutions.

According to the national coordinator of NSIPA, the Vocational and Skills Training Programme (VSTP) is means to upgrade beneficiaries’ skill level. It aims to help them get contemporary skill-set, hand them professional tools and as well equip them with relevant entrepreneurial knowledge required to start earning after graduation.

Who Can Apply?

According to an official statement from NSIPA and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, the following group of people will be prioritized:

Note: The training for these programmes will run for two (2) weeks combine with hands-on instruction with entrepreneurship modules covering business management, financial literacy, digital literacy, and customer relations.

Persons that successfully finish the program shall receive a trade-specific starter pack to help them begin work immediately. NSIPA has specifically said that every pack will be digitally tracked to discourage resale.

How to Register for NSIPA VSTP Batch I 2026

The step-by-step registration process for the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) Vocational and Skills Training Programme (VSTP) are as follows:

1. Begin by opening NSIPA VSTP registration portal vstpmedds.nsipa.gov.ng.
2. Click on “Start Application.”
3. Enter your name, National Identification Number (NIN), email address and phone number.
4. Check your email both inbox and spam for the One-Time Password (OTP) and confirm account.
5. Login to fill the online registration form.
6. Provide your correct personal details including date of birth, state of origin, Bank Verification Number (BVN), and account details.
7. Upload a recent passport photograph and any other document required.
8. Read through your application once more to correct possible mistakes.
9. Submit application

Once you are able to submit application, you will be automatically assigned to a batch for e.g. VSTP-2026-B1.

Confirm to confirm and track your application status by visiting NSIPA VSTP portal, click “check my status” enter your email address and password, then it will show either pending of activated.

In case you forget your password, simply click the “forger password” option and a reset OTP will be sent to either your email or phone number.

What is NSIPA VSTP Registration Deadline for Batch I?

As of 18th July 2026, the batch I registration deadline for the NSIPA Vocational and Skill Training Programme (VSTP) has not yet been announced rather the application have been paused to resume soon.

So, if you’re trying to access the portal at this time but cannot, simply try again in the next few days. According to NSIPA, the reason for pausing the registration is:

• Training for the first cohort at the 229 accredited centres have already started, which means that the intake for Batch I may be filled up.
• Commencement for batch II registration shall be announced on the NSIPA VSTP official registration portal.

Is the 2026 NSIPA VSTP Registration Free?

Yes, the application for both batch I and II of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA) Vocational and Skills Training Programme (VSTP) is completely free of charge. No intermediary is required. Lastly, the accredited centers are only for training only, selected beneficiaries won’t have to pay an external fee there.
