What is FG TVET Programme?
FG refers to Federal Government and TVET stands for Technical and Vocational Education and Training. TVET programme is an initiative designed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration to help equip young Nigerians with hands-on, income generating skills that are high demand both locally and internationally.
The programme is conducted in differs accredited training centres across the country. This includes federal and state technical colleges and Vocational Enterprise Institutions. Beneficiaries are attached to a centre closest to their current location.
Is FG TVET Phase 2 Registration 2026 Ongoing?
The Federal Government through the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa made a public announcement that the application for cohort II will begin on 13th April 2026. Persons interested in applying for the phase 2 must register online at www.tvet.education.gov.ng.

Eligibility for Phase 2 Registration
The factors that make you eligible to register for the 2026 Federal Government TVET programme are as follows;
- Applicant must be a Nigerian citizen by birth.
- He or she must possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- Applicants with either SCCE, OND, NCE, HND or B.Sc. can apply.
- Applicant must be unemployed and ready to avail his or her throughout the programme duration.
- Candidate shall provide a recent passport photograph.
- Must be within 18 – 35 years age bracket.
- Applicant must have an active email address.
Categories of FG TVET Programme
The programme is divided into two (2) categories:
- Short-Term Certificate (STC) Programme: This training is meant to last for six (6) months and is most suitable for SSCE holders or persons with no formal education nor skillset.
- Vocational Education and Innovation (VEI) Programme: This other category is for one (1) year and channeled towards individuals who have format education, training or skillset.
Whichever you choose, understand that the programme will be conducted at only approved center and it is meant to be practical based rather than classroom theory.

Step by Step Registration Process
Whether you wish to apply for phase 2 cohort I or II, follow the steps below.
- Open the registration portal education.gov.ng.
- Click apply and create an account using your email address, NIN and preferred password.
- Login to select your preferred programme category.
- Verify your National Identification Number (NIN).
- Proceed to fill the online form.
- Ensure you provide only correct details about yourself.
- Select a training centre near your location. Confirm that it’s not a place far from where you currently stay.
- Read through the information you provide once more especially your name, NIN and phone number.
- Submit and print out the acknowledgement slip
Benefits of Joining the FG TVET Programme 2026
- You will not pay any amount to acquire specified skills.
- You will be given a monthly stipend of ₦22,500 throughout the training period.
- The training is purely hands-on and practical, which means after that, you will get nationally recognized certification.
