Key Facts About NSCDC Recruitment Exercise
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is a federal paramilitary agency which was officially founded in 2007 under the Act No. 2 of 2003 as amended by Act 6 of 2007.
While the Nigerian Army focuses border protection against external forces, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) assists the police force with internal security crises and protection of lives and properties.
Currently, NSCDC has over 63,000 officers deployed across all the thirty six (36) states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Other key functions of the defence corps include protection of government infrastructure such as pipelines, power stations, and buildings etc.
The NSCDC does not recruit independently. Recruitment is managed by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) which comprises of:
- Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
- Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS)
- Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS)
- Federal Fire Service (FFS)
Applications for any of these agencies can be submitted on the same portal. Thus, note that the NSCDC does not have an independent recruitment portal exercise for their official website (www.nscdc.gov.ng).
