Breakdown of NPF Recruitment Exercise 2026

The recruitment 50,000 constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) began in November 2025 and currently candidates are seeking to know the training date, here’s a breakdown of the entire process.

As indicated in the above table, the online application for General Duty and Specialist cadre began 2025 and applications were received from eligible and interested persons from all 36 States and the FCT.

It then proceeded to shortlisting phase where candidates went for physical screening and vetting to documents/certificates, after that was the aptitude test. Is Police Medical Screening Result 2026 Out?

Yes, the Police Service Commission (PSC) on Thursday, 16th July 2026 officially released the medical screening and training shortlist for the recruitment of 50,000 constables.

What is NPF Constable Training Date 2026?

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has officially announced that the NPF constable training date is 16 – 22 July 2026.

Here is an important update to all candidates awaiting the release of this result; in May 2026, a flyer publication was circulated on social media but the police commands both in Lagos and Ogun State dismissed the claim as fake.

Later on, another circulation began starting that the NPF medical screening will start from 16th – 20th July 2026 but this schedule has not been officially confirmed on the Police Service Commission (PSC) portal.

Fact: The Police Service Commission on 9th July 2026 held a meeting with officials from PSC, NPF, Federal Character Commission, and the Ministry of Police Affairs and issued an official statement that the next phase of this recruitment exercise shall be communicated soon. On 16th July 2026, they released the official list.

Login using your NIN.
On your dashboard, click “check status”
There you can confirm if you’ve been invited for the medical screening or not.

Important Update!

It is important you know that Police training starting date 2026 will only be announced once the medical screening, character verification and final approval from PSC for the consolidated list of successful candidates.

Currently, the medical screening date have not been announced thus, training has not yet commenced.
