Which College of Nursing Is Open for a 2026 Application?
There are several colleges of nursing science across Nigeria that have released their 2026/2027 admission forms and are currently accepting applications.
1. UCH Ibadan School of Nursing Exam Date: 13th July 2026
The University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan School of Nursing is one of the most sort after in Nigeria. Recently, the school made a public notice that the admission application will start from Monday, 18th June 2026 close on Wednesday, 8th July 2026.
Also, the UCH Ibadan school of nursing entrance examination will take place on Monday, 13th July 2026. Only candidates who successfully register and pay the non-refundable application fee shall be accepted to write the exam.
The programmes available at UCH Ibadan includes; General Nursing, Community Health Science, and Perioperative Nursing for the 2026/2027 academic session.
2. Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando Exam Date: Saturday, 22nd August 2026
The Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando (LASCON) admission form 2026/2027 is ongoing. Aspirants can submit application for either National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) Nursing programmes.
The application portal opens from Tuesday, 26th May 2026 and closes on Tuesday, 21st July 2026 while the entrance examination will hold on Saturday, 22nd August 2026 at the school premises from 8:00am.
To gain admission into LASCON, it is advisable you score 20 and above in JAMB, be at least 17 years old in 2026 and then have five (5) credit in O’level result.
This must cover core science subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Finally, you must take them as first choice.
3. Ogun State College of Nursing Sciences
Applications for the Ogun State College of Nursing Science started from 25th May 2026 and will close on 20th July 2026. Prospective students must visit the official admission portal at apply.ogun.edu.ng to submit application.
4. Yagongwo College of Nursing
The application process for Yagongwo College of Nursing 2026/2027 admission form is ongoing. Aspirants are to pay a non-refundable application fee of N15,000 via the official portal.
5. Peacock College of Nursing Sciences
Post UTME form for 2026/2027 admission is now out. Applications are accepted via online at the official Peacock admission portal.
6. College of Nursing Sciences, Abiriba, Abia State
Have announced that the sale of 2026/2027 admission application form is ongoing for Basic and Post-Basic Nursing programmes.
7. School of Nursing, UNTH, Enugu
Admission form 2026/2027 is finally out. Prospective student of general and Post-Basic nursing should visit the UNTH admission portal to register .

What the College of Nursing Entrance Exam Looks Like in 2026
Irrespective of the School of Nursing Science you’re applying for whether UCH Ibadan, LASCON, Peacock, HASCONS, EDOCNS, OGCONS etc. the entrance exam format is similar.
Usually, the entrance examination is paper written, but recently it has been changed to multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering core science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English Language.
- Biology questions usually focus on Human anatomy, physiology, cell structure, genetics, diseases and nutrition etc.
- Chemistry questions are about organic and inorganic chemistry, basic chemical reactions, laboratory safety etc.
- Physics focuses on mechanics, waves, light, and electricity related topics.
- English Language is basically about Comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and essay writing etc. while
- General Knowledge focuses on current affairs, basic health awareness and critical thinking etc.
Admission Requirements for College of Nursing in Nigeria
The entry requirements for all College of Nursing Science is similarly the same except for JAMB and Post UTME score.
O’Level Result: Irrespective of the school of nursing you wish to join, you’re expected to have a minimum of five (5) credit in your O’level which must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics etc.
UTME Score: The general JAMB cut-off mark for Nigerian College of Nursing is 140 but the higher your score, the better.
Age Limit: To gain admission into any College of Nursing in Nigeria you must be at least 17 years old.
