The vacant positions announced by INEC is divided into three (3) broad categories:

  • Professional Cadre (Grade Levels 09, 10 and 12): This category includes specialist positions such as Lawyers, Clinical Officers, IT Officers, Engineers, and Accountants etc.

General Requirements for all Applicants

The factors that make you eligible to apply for the 2026 INEC Permanent Staff recruitment are as follows:

  • Prospective applicant must be an indigene and resident of Nigeria.
  • It is mandatory that all applicant have a valid Certificate of Origin duly signed by the Chairman or Secretary of their L.G.A.

Professional Cadre (GL 09, 10, 12)

  • This position requires a person with at least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Those with Master’s degree in the relevant field have an added advantage.
  • Relevant professional certification/qualification like NBA, MDCN, COREN, NSE, ICAN, ANAN, or CPN are very much welcomed.
  • Applicant of this role must have a valid NYSC Discharge Certificate or Certificate of Exemption, or Letter of Exclusion as the case may be.
  • Candidate must have practical experience and competence in his or her specialization.
  • Having an excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills are pivotal.

Administrative Officer II (GL 08)

  • Candidates interested in working as administrative officer II must have either a Bachelor’s degree or HND.
  • Equivalent qualification in Social Sciences, Humanities, or Sciences from a recognised institution is acceptable.
  • It is mandatory to complete NYSC and possess the discharge certificate at the time of application.
  • Persons with exemption or letter of exclusion can also apply.
  • Applicants of this role must be very conversant with data management and record-keeping.
  • It is important to have strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Having proficiency in computer application like Microsoft Office and other relevant data management software is pivotal.

Executive Officer (GL 07)

  • Applicants of this position must have either a National Certificate in Education (NCE), National Diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • You should be very professional in handling data, possess good communication and organizational skills as well.
  • Must be willing and able to work under supervision within the assigned Registration Area.

  3. Provide your name, select gender, state of origin, enter email address and NIN, then click continue.
  4. Your applicant profile have been successfully created.
  5. Next, login using your email address and National Identification Number (NIN).
  6. Carefully fill the online application form.
  7. Proceed to clearly scan and attach documents/certificates required.
  8. Ensure it matches required size and format.

  10. Proceed to submit and save or print out the acknowledgement slip.
